it combines the joy of reading and writing, the scents and sensations of baking, and the joy and peace of believing that God is. It is a newsletter, a blog, a post, a devotional, a little sharing from my heart to yours. It is a time out for a few minutes once a week, a time to ponder, a time to pray, and perhaps a time to prepare a new treat for those you love–including yourself!
I am a writer and a baker. There is a recipe and a structure to each of those disciplines; and in each area there is a time to relax the rules and throw in a pinch of this and a dash of that. I love my great grandmothers old cookbooks that literally call for a “hint” or “some” of a certain ingredient. Many of the old cookbooks call for a jar or can of this or that with no indication how big the jar or can was to be. The rules of writing are better defined, like modern day recipes, and yet as you read old literature and compare it with new, even those rules have morphed over time.
From week to week I will share stories old and new, talk about books and recipes and the greatest book of all, God’s Word. I’d love to offer you a cup of tea and a cinnamon roll to enjoy as you savor the words, but even AI has not figured out how to make that possible. Thanks for joining me,
