Praising & Praying in May . . .

“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
    Serve the Lord with gladness!
    Come into his presence with singing!

Know that the Lord, he is God!
    It is he who made us, and we are his;
    we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
    and his courts with praise!
    Give thanks to him; bless his name!

For the Lord is good;
    his steadfast love endures forever,
    and his faithfulness to all generations.”

Psalm 100:1-5

My month of delighting in the Lord is quickly coming to an end. Not that I will stop delighting in Him, but the emphasis on pondering the goodness of God, relaxing into His care and aligning my wants, dreams and desires with Him, actually aligning myself with God, will be over as far as the blog is concerned.

My hope is that you, too, have taken some time to examine the role that God plays in your life. Delighting in God should lead to praise and adoration. As the psalmist encourages us to praise God, to thank Him, to bless His name, our daily life should reflect that kind of admiration and delight.

We can praise Him because He is good. He delights in us, He loves us, He watches over us. We are never alone. His steadfast love endures through all storms, trials and hardships. When you are happy He is there, loving you. When you are sad or sick or straining to believe, He is there, loving you. His faithfulness is as constant for you as it can be for your children and your children’s children. His love does not end. Ever.

Take a few moments right now, and hum or sing a joyful song to the Lord. Come into His presence with delight. Commit yourself to the Lord, trust Him, and watch what He will do.
